Ed Sheeran Sued for Song Theft Again: Does 'Thinking Out Loud' Rip Off 'Let'southward Get It On'?
Heirs of Marvin Gaye's co-writer claim that Sheeran'southward vocal "copied the 'centre'" of classic tune

Ed Sheeran has been accused of stealing from another composer'due south work. Again.
The singer was slapped with a copyright infringement lawsuit on Tuesday that claims his hit "Thinking Out Loud" infringes on the classic Marvin Gaye song "Let's Get It On."
The adapt was filed by the heirs of Ed Townsend, who co-wrote the 1973 classic with Gaye.

"The defendants copied the 'heart' of 'Permit's' and repeated it continuously throughout 'Thinking,'" the lawsuit, filed in federal court in New York, reads. "The melodic, harmonic and rhythmic compositions in 'Thinking' are non the production of independent creation."
The suit seeks unspecified damages.
Sheeran is no stranger to infringement allegations; in June, the singer was socked with a $20 million lawsuit by a pair of songwriters who claim that his 2014 tune "Photograph" infringes on their 2009 song "Astonishing," which served equally the basis for the song of the same name by Matt Cardle, the 2010 winner of "The X Factor."

A spokesman for Sheeran has not yet responded to TheWrap's request for comment.
Every bit fans of copyright infringement lawsuits no doubt remember, the family of Marvin Gaye won a multimillion-dollar judgment last year later on alleging that Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams' "Blurred Lines" infringed on Gaye's "Got to Requite It Up."
